# Minerva Data MCP

> Connect Codex, Claude, and other MCP clients to Minerva

Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects AI assistants to external tools and data.
Minerva Data MCP lets your assistant search for people, preview profiles, enrich
known contacts, export audiences, and query your organization’s connected data.

## Before you connect

* Sign in to [Minerva](https://app.minerva.io) and complete your account and organization setup.
* Use an MCP client that supports **Streamable HTTP** and **OAuth** sign-in.
* Confirm which Minerva organization you want to use. Each connection operates within one selected organization.

MCP uses your Minerva user account.
Available operations depend on your organization’s access and connected data.

## Connect

The standard MCP server URL is:

```text theme={null}
https://api.minerva.io/mcp
```

For an endpoint that excludes billable record export, use:

```text theme={null}
https://api.minerva.io/mcp/credit-safe
```

To use this endpoint, replace the URL in the setup instructions below with
`https://api.minerva.io/mcp/credit-safe` and complete OAuth for that connection.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Codex" id="codex">
    [Install Minerva in Codex](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6aa3ed91acb881918712d2f6731fe0a6?open_in_app),
    or search for **Minerva** in the Codex plugin marketplace. Connect Minerva and
    sign in to your Minerva account.

    Alternatively, add the server manually:

    ```bash theme={null}
    codex mcp add minerva-data --url https://api.minerva.io/mcp
    ```

    Complete the browser sign-in if Codex starts it automatically. Otherwise, run:

    ```bash theme={null}
    codex mcp login minerva-data
    ```

    The Codex app, CLI, and IDE extension share the same MCP configuration.
    Start a new session after adding the server.
    See the [Codex MCP guide](https://developers.openai.com/codex/mcp/) for client configuration.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Claude Code" id="claude-code">
    Add Minerva for your user account:

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user minerva-data https://api.minerva.io/mcp
    ```

    Start Claude Code, run `/mcp`, select `minerva-data`, and complete authentication.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Other MCP clients" id="other-mcp-clients">
    Enter the server URL in your client's remote MCP settings and complete OAuth.
    Configuration formats differ between clients. Clients that support the following
    `mcpServers` HTTP format can use:

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "minerva-data": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://api.minerva.io/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Use the client's authentication action to complete OAuth after adding the
    server. If the client only supports local command-based servers, this remote
    configuration will not work directly.
