# Troubleshooting

> Resolve common Minerva Data MCP connection and usage problems

| Problem | What to do |
| - | - |
| Sign-in is required or the session expired | Run your client's authentication action. In Codex, run `codex mcp login minerva-data`. In Claude Code, open `/mcp` and authenticate Minerva. |
| Account setup is incomplete (`onboarding_required`) | Open [Minerva](https://app.minerva.io), sign in with the same account, complete organization setup, and reconnect. |
| The wrong organization is selected | Follow the [organization switching steps](/mcp/faq#how-do-i-switch-organizations). |
| Export or enrichment tools are missing | Check whether the server URL ends in `/credit-safe`. Use the standard endpoint and authenticate again when you need those tools. |
| First-party search or analytics is unavailable | Check organization capabilities and connected data. Complete data setup in Minerva before retrying. |
| Record export is blocked | Ask the assistant to check `get_billing_usage`. Review your plan allowance, overage limit, and account access. |
| A download link has expired | Ask the assistant to check the same activation again. It can retrieve a fresh link while the file remains available. |
| Opening the MCP URL in a browser shows an error | Add the URL to an MCP client. It is a protocol endpoint, not a web page. |
